National Underground Railroad Freedom Center
Museum – Design Partner: JRA
The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center was still in its initial fundraising stage when it contacted Geograph Industries. The organization needed a portable exhibit to display at fundraising functions to raise money for the museum.
Geograph created a display that was portable yet had impressive features that grabbed the attention of potential donors. It included a display representing the exterior of the proposed museum and its placement on the banks of the Ohio River in Cincinnati – the demarcation line between slavery and freedom for slaves navigating the Underground Railroad. It also showed examples of exhibits that would be included in the museum, and communicated the potential impact the Freedom Center would have on visitors. Today the NURFC is a destination location for visitors and students alike.
